Biography

Davie Thomson established his independent consulting practice in the mid-1990s, working with complex manufacturing and engineering businesses on operational performance and large-scale transformation. In 2018, he stepped into a FTSE 250 plc as a senior executive for a defined period, leading international operational transformation from within the organisation. The role was a long-term intervention rather than a change of career, bringing his external transformation experience into a public company environment at scale. He concluded that engagement in 2021 and returned fully to independent practice, combining board-level advisory with system-wide execution across complex organisations worldwide. Alongside his advisory and executive work, Davie has also built and led other ventures, including a First Aid training business and a hypnotherapy practice, reflecting a long-standing interest in people, behaviour and performance under pressure. • Strengthening capability across leadership, management and frontline teams to ensure that improvement endures beyond the intervention.

  • Designing and leading enterprise-wide change that strengthens capability, accelerates performance and embeds lasting improvement.

  • Reducing end-to-end lead times, improving throughput and strengthening constraint behaviour across the enterprise.

  • Driving measurable improvements in output, cost, margin and cash through structured operational improvement.

The Timeline emerged from decades of observing the same underlying performance patterns across different organisations.

It is a structured way of making system behaviour visible early enough to act, strengthening cash, margin and operational control.
